“Alone we can do so little. Together we do so much.”

- Helen Keller

Vision

Ever since Helen Keller inspired us to champion the cause in 1925, Lions Clubs all over the world have served and advocated for the blind and visually impaired. Nearly a century later, this long-standing mission continues unhindered.

What vision services does the Guntersville Lions Club offer?

  • Free vision exams and glasses (if needed) for residents of all ages. We currently do not provide contact lenses.

  • Any other vision service is considered a special request and will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

Who is eligible to receive assistance?

GLC’s goal is to help as many people as possible that live in our community.

  • The applicant must be a resident within GLC’s service area.

  • The applicant must submit a completed Vision Assistance Application.

Recycle Your Eyeglasses

Many vision issues can be easily corrected with eyeglasses, yet millions living in low and middle income countries lack access to basic eye care services. Lions have recognized the urgent need for corrective lenses and collect usable glasses in their communities to support the Lions Recycle For Sight Program. The Guntersville Lions Club partners with vision centers in our community to recycle your old eyeglasses. Please donate any glasses, readers, and sunglasses that are in good, usable condition at one of the locations listed below.
